SHOW DIRECTION for the ROBERTS-WOOD AW19 presentation
For Roberts-Wood.
I met Katie in 2015 as a blogger attending the International Talent Support contest in Trieste. After several seasons of attending and documenting her shows backstage (which is where I met my friend and most frequent collaborator Paul Phung), Katie and Ryan had asked me if I wanted to work with them on their AW19 presentation.
I conceptualised a space which attempted at creating a physical representation of the workspace within her head. We had women from various creative channels performing their "skillset" within this space, each within their own station, styled excellently in Katie's creations by Lune Kuipers. I commissioned Milo McKinnon to create a soundtrack, of which he utilised excerpts from interviews with the models. Katie herself featured within the show, creating a ginourmous white dress (which I believe we repurpose for the following season?) throughout the duration. It was truly magical. I had a lot of helping hands on this one. Thanks Rick!
