'BIRTH', a dancer series by Paul Phung
Part of Paul's ongoing collaboration with extraordinarily talented dancers, 'BIRTH' was my first involvement. Through this series you can learn much about the calibre of expression dancers can exhibit through movement. I'd like to believe they create their own language through such expression. We shot this at The Painting Rooms, which at the time was owned by the absolutely lovely Paul (different) and Fiona, the former of which has a brilliant selection of Pleats from his 80s and 90s trips to Japan.
Styled with brilliant help from Tommy, a talented graduate menswear designer at the time who assisted me with all on-site alterations.
